It's a Sharp Aquos LC-70LE650U television, currently using the VGA input.
It doesn't look like a backlight problem (as in a fluorescent lamp burning out), strictly speaking, because from the next photo, it can get quite bright on that side of the screen. Also, it's an LED TV and I thought those last forever.
